Today felt like an adventure in a small wrapper. During lunch break at college, one of my classmates brought a bag of Chinese candy to share. I’d never tried any before, so I was curious—and honestly, a little nervous.
The candies were colorful, with intriguing names I couldn’t pronounce. The first one I picked up was wrapped in shiny green foil. It turned out to be a lychee-flavored candy, and the taste was delightful—sweet, floral, and unlike anything I’ve had before. Another one I tried was made from white rabbit milk. It was chewy, creamy, and came with a thin rice paper wrapper you could eat. That one fascinated me the most!
Then came the plum candy. Let’s just say it was… an experience. The initial sweet tang quickly gave way to a salty, sour punch that completely caught me off guard. I wasn’t sure if I loved it or hated it, but I appreciated how different it was.
The whole day felt like a cultural mini-tour through my taste buds. It reminded me how much there is to explore, even in something as simple as candy. I’ve decided to pick up some Chinese snacks myself next time I’m out. Who knows what else I might discover?
P.S. The white rabbit one is my favorite so far!
